The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Chemical Working Group (CWG) Safety Panel Hybrid Meeting is scheduled for February 19–20, 2025, at the Applied Research Laboratories (ARL) at The University of Texas at Austin, in Austin, Texas. The virtual forum will be hosted through MS Teams.
The Federal Consortium for Advanced Batteries (FCAB) Meeting – a half-day session to allow for collaboration discussions with the FCAB is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2025. Attendance is limited, see guidance below.

Meeting Attendees/Guests – Please Review Carefully
Attendance at the Safety Panel and FCAB Meetings is limited to:
- U.S. government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.
- Pre-approved foreign government representatives.
- Captive advisory and assistance services (A&AS) government contractors.
- Employees of federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDCs.
*Participation in the FCAB Meeting is limited to in-person attendees only.
Participation Requests
For new participants only: requests for participation of non-U.S. government employees must be submitted in writing and sent to Julie Simmons and Giuseppe Di Benedetto. The deadline for requests for foreign government representatives is January 8, 2025. The deadline for requests for U.S. government contractors/FFRDC’s is January 22, 2025. Requests received after these dates cannot be accepted.
Meeting Registration
Pre-registration is required for in-person and virtual participants through the IAPG website.
The registration deadline for foreign government representatives is January 29, 2025. The registration deadline for all other attendees is February 5, 2025.
During the registration process, please ensure you are providing your full legal name as it appears on the government-issued ID you will be using for identification at the visitor control office.

The University of Texas at Austin is accessible via the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
Toll Roads
The most direct route by car to ARL:UT from the Austin Airport (AUS) involves the 183 toll road. No cash is required. Vehicles without a TxTag are billed by mail based on license plate readers. Rental car agencies may offer a TxTag for a nominal daily fee. Check with your rental car company in advance.

Visitor Access
The ARL:UT visitor entrance is located on Burnet Road, across from the intersection of Burnet Road and Rutland Drive. Visitors may use the u-shaped parking lot directly in front of the entrance. View a detailed map and directions.
Visitors must present a valid government-issued picture ID (i.e., passport, military ID, or state driver’s license) upon arrival. Company IDs and credit cards are not acceptable forms of identification.
Parking
Visitors may park in the visitor parking lot in front of the Burnet Road Main Entrance. Additional parking is available in the Pickle Research Center lots east of the Commons. View a detailed parking map.
Food Accommodations
Snacks, including pastries/muffins, cookies, coffee, water, and tea will be provided throughout the meeting for a nominal fee of $5.00 per person, per day. Attendees should be prepared with cash to pay for these charges. Lunch will be on your own. Several dining options are located within walking distance, including the PRC Commons Learning Center Café which offers affordable, chef-prepare meals on-campus. The Domain and Domain Northside & Rock Rose, located directly north of campus, offer a variety of dining options that can be accessed via a longer walk, bus, or a very short drive.
If your attendance plans change, please contact Renee O’Brokta to cancel your registration so we may avoid unnecessary charges. The deadline for cancellation is February 12, 2025.
Group Dinner
A no-host group dinner is planned for the evening of Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Charges will be individually billed. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend.
Facility Tours
Tours of the University of Texas Battery Fabrication and Testing Facility are scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, February 20, 2025. Please indicate on your registration if you plan to participate. Tours are open to all registered meeting participants.
