The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Mechanical Working Group (MWG) Hybrid Meeting is scheduled for May 21–23, 2024, at the U.S. Department of Energy Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The virtual portion is being hosted through MS Teams.
Meeting Goals
The IAPG strives to share information and increase effectiveness of the interagency research and development (R&D) Programs in a wide realm of advanced power. Each year, the MWG meeting provides a forum for a crosscutting review of current government research activities across the interest of MWG participants within the IAPG member agencies (Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of Energy, NASA, and the Department of Transportation).

Meeting Attendees/Guests – Please Review Carefully
Attendance at the MWG Meeting is limited to U.S. persons – citizens or lawful permanent residents (LPR’s), also known as permanent resident aliens (PRA’s) or green card holders.
There will be a government-only session held on Tuesday, May 21, and the morning of Wednesday, May 22, 2024. This session is limited to:
- U.S. government employees, including intergovernmental personnel act (IPA) assignees.
There will be a technical session held on Thursday, May 23, 2024. This session is open to:
- U.S. government employees, including IPA assignees.
- Captive advisory and assistance services (A&AS) government contractors.
- Employees of federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDCs.
- Government contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include academic institutions, as well as both on-site and off-site performers.
Meeting Registration
Pre-registration is required, for in-person and virtual attendees. The deadline for registration is May 13, 2024.

Badging
Upon arrival at INL, visitors should proceed to the Willow Creek Building (WCB) located at 1955 Fremont Avenue. Visitor parking is available in the front of the building at the second turn on your right. Visitors may enter through the front lobby entrance.
Visitor Access
For visitor access and badging at INL, U.S. citizens must present a REAL ID compliant form of identification, such as a current U.S. passport or driver’s license. View a list of compliant/extension states/territories and noncompliant state/territories.
For states/territories not in compliance with REAL ID Act, a current driver’s license along with a second form of ID such as a social security card, original or certified copy of a birth certificate, Native American tribal document, or U. S. citizen ID card, can be permitted for badging and visitor access to INL/BEA and other site contractor facilities.
Holders of other REAL ID Act non-compliant state’s driver’s licenses will require additional identification from the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration. View the list of approved identification items.
INL accepts HSPD-12 personal identity verification (PIV) and Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC), badges as proper identification for site access. If you have an approved federal ID card, please bring it with you.

Food Accommodations
While there is no registration fee, $28 per person, per day, will be collected through the online registration process for those choosing to participate. The cost includes continental breakfast, lunch, beverages, and snacks provided throughout the meeting.
If your attendance plans change, please contact Renee O’Brokta to cancel your registration to avoid unnecessary charges. The deadline for cancellation is May 14, 2024. Refunds cannot be issued after this date.
Group Dinner
A no-host group dinner is planned for the evening of Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Charges will be billed individually. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend so an approximate number of attendees can be provided to the restaurant in advance.
