The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Chemical Working Group and Safety Panel Hybrid Meeting is scheduled for September 17–19, 2024, at the Hill Air Force Base, in Ogden, Utah. The virtual portion will be hosted through MS Teams.
Meeting Goals
The IAPG strives to share information and increase the effectiveness of interagency research and development (R&D) programs in a wide realm of advanced power technologies. The CWG meeting will provide a forum for a cross-cutting review of current government research activities across the interest of CWG members within the IAPG Member Agencies (Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of Energy, NASA, and the Department of Transportation).
The IAPG CWG Safety Panel Meeting provides a forum to exchange information related to technical and safety issues involving batteries, fuel cells, and ultracapacitors used in government-wide applications.

Meeting Attendees/Guests – Please Review Carefully
Attendance at the Chemical Working Group (CWG) Meeting is limited to:
- U.S. government employees, including Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.
- Onsite contractors at government operated laboratories working under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Employer is precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
- Employees of Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDC’s.
- Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Employees. View for more information on STRL.
- Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) Employees.
Attendance at the Safety Panel Meeting is limited to:
- U.S. government employees, including IPA assignees.

*Requests for approval of non-U.S. government employees (U.S. government contractors) who have not participated in the CWG or Safety Panel Meeting the previous year, must be submitted in writing, and sent to Julie Simmons and Giuseppe Di Benedetto. The deadline for requests is August 16, 2024.

Pre-registration is required for both in-person and virtual participants. Walk-in/day-of meeting registrations will not be permitted. The deadline for in-person registration is September 3, 2024. This is a HARD DEADLINE; timely registration and submission is mandatory. The deadline for virtual participation is September 10, 2024.

- All CWG and Safety Panel Meeting attendees should enter the installation through the West Gate.
- All visitors are required to have a valid state-issued ID card.
- Visitors with a valid Department of Defense (DoD) issued Common Access Card (CAC) may enter the West security gate and proceed directly to the meeting facility. No further action is needed.
- Non-DoD CAC holders must provide visit request information to Hill Air Force Base no later than
September 6, 2024. Additional guidance is provided with registration confirmation. - Drivers will need a valid REAL ID Compliant Driver’s License, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance to obtain a pass.
- Visitors may be disapproved, or already approved visitors may be denied access in certain situations, such as real-world FPCON of BRAVO or higher.
- All visitors are subject to a criminal background check.

Directions
Hill Air Force Base South Gate Visitor Center is located off exit #334 from I-15. From the exit head East on UT-193/Veterans Memorial Highway/W 3000 N then turn north on S Gate Ave/N Hill Field Rd/N400 W toward HAFB South Gate Visitor Center.
Falcon Hill is located straight through the HAFB West Gate, off exit #335 from I-15. From the exit head East on UT-103/650 North toward/Hill AFB West Gate.

On-site parking is available in the lot just south of Building 1571. Maps will be provided with final confirmation.
Food Accommodations
There is a bistro-to-go and vending machines outside the meeting room – please have cash/card on hand if you plan to use this option. Lunch will be on your own as there are numerous options on base and within close proximity to the meeting room.
Tours
Electric Power Systems Facility Tour: Monday, September 16
A tour of Electric Power Systems (EPS) facilities is scheduled for 1500–1700 on Monday, September 16, 2024, for anyone choosing to participate. EPS is in Logan, UT, approximately a 95-minute drive from Salt Lake City Airport, and a 60-minute drive from Hill Air Force Base. Please plan accordingly if you are interested in participating.
Hill Air Force Base Facility Tours: Wednesday, September 18
Tours of Hill Air Force Base are planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Tours are open to all meeting attendees.
Group Dinner
A group dinner is planned for the evening of Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Charges will be individually billed. The group dinner is located in an upstairs dining area. Attendees will need to be able to walk a full flight of stairs, there is no elevator. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend so an approximate number of attendees can be provided to the restaurant in advance.

Final presentations in MS PowerPoint or Adobe PDF format should be sent to Renee O’Brokta no later than September 10, 2024. Presentations should follow Distribution C (Distribution authorized to U.S. Government Agencies and their contractors) Guidelines. All presentations must be received in advance for distribution to virtual participants.
