IAPG 60th Anniversary Celebration Event

The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) is celebrating 60 years of service and collaboration in advanced power research among federal agencies!  Join us for the 60th Anniversary Celebration Event scheduled for November 6-7, 2018, at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in Arlington, Virginia.

Meeting Goals

For 60 years, the IAPG has emphasized program coordination and dissemination of power-related technical information to increase the effectiveness of Government programs, avoid duplication, identify technology gaps, and maximize success in research efforts. The meeting will provide a celebration and recognition of the value and success of IAPG over the last 60 years and a look forward to its increasingly important role in the coming decades. IAPG continues to integrate and coordinate government research activities in power across the IAPG Member Agencies (Army, Navy, Air Force, DOE, and NASA).

Meeting Attendees – Please Review Carefully

Attendance at the IAPG meeting is limited to U.S. persons – citizens or lawful permanent residents (LPRs), also known as permanent resident aliens (PRAs) or green card holders.

  • U.S. government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) employees.
  • Onsite contractors at a government operated laboratory working under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Employer is precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
  • Employees of federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDCs.
  • Government contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include academic institutions, as well as both onsite and offsite performers.
  • Retirees of IAPG member agencies who were previously significantly engaged in IAPG activities.

All presenters as well as meeting attendees are required to register for the meeting. No walk-in/day-of meeting registrations will be permitted.

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is accessible by Metrorail as well as several area train stations and airports. The following guide provides additional detailed directions.

Parking

In order to park at One Liberty Center (OLC) or ONR, attendee must be a Federal government employee and/or military personnel displaying a valid CAC and present it to the security guard at the gate. Please be advised that parking is limited at ONR.

There are additional parking options surrounding ONR, including the OLC parking garage, as well as parking facilities with access from Randolph Street. The following guide provides additional detailed directions.

Food Accommodations

While there is no registration fee, $25.00 per person per day will be collected through the online registration process if you choose to participate in the food and beverages provided throughout the meeting. Cost includes morning coffee/snacks, lunch, and break refreshments/snacks.

Please be advised that if you do not to select the food and beverage option, you may want to pack your own food/beverages each day. If you choose to go offsite for lunch, an escort will be required to take you from the meeting on the 14th floor to the ONR Lobby. Upon return from lunch, you will need to re-enter security prior to admission back into ONR, and will again require an escort back to the 14th floor conference room. Additional time will be needed so please plan accordingly.

It is imperative we have actual numbers for the meal count, as the number provided to the caterer is what we are held accountable for. If your attendance plans change, please contact Renee O’Brokta to cancel your registration so we may avoid unnecessary charges. The deadline for cancellation is October 30, 2018. Refunds cannot be issued after this date.

Group Dinner

A group dinner/social is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend. Charges will be individually billed by the restaurant.

Presentations

If you are scheduled to present at the 60th Anniversary Celebration Event, an electronic copy of your presentation in MS PowerPoint or Adobe PDF format should be sent to Renee O’Brokta, IAPG Support Specialist, at renee.obrokta@nasa.gov no later than October 25, 2018. The use of Mac or specialized graphics software for your presentation is not available.
