The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Electrical Systems Working Group (ESWG) and Mechanical Working Group (MWG) is hosting a combined meeting scheduled for April 27 – May 1, 2020, at the Energy Innovation Center (EIC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The theme of the meeting is “Hybrid Electric.”

Meeting Goals

The IAPG strives to share information and increase effectiveness of the interagency research and development (R&D) programs in a wide realm of Advanced Power. Each year, the ESWG and MWG meetings provide a forum for a crosscutting review of current government research activities across the interest of ESWG and MWG participants within the IAPG member agencies (Army, Navy, Air Force, DOE, NASA, and DOT).

Meeting Theme

The theme of the 2020 meeting is “Hybrid Electric.”

Meeting Attendees – Please Review Carefully

Attendance at the ESWG-MWG Meeting is limited to U.S. persons – citizens or lawful permanent residents (LPRs), also known as permanent resident aliens (PRAs) or green card holders.

The meeting is comprised of two sessions; please see below for guidance on attendance.

There will be government-only sessions held the afternoon of Monday, April 27, all day Tuesday, April 28, and the morning of Wednesday, April 29, 2020. These sessions are open to:

  1. U.S. government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.

There will be open-technical sessions held on Thursday, April 30, and the morning of Friday, May 1, 2020. These sessions are open to:

  1. U.S. government employees, includes IPA assignees.
  2. On-site contractors at a government operated laboratory working under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Employer is precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
  3. Employees of federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDCs.
  4. Government contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include both on-site and off-site performers.
  5. Academic Institutions – this would include those who have an existing Education Partnership Agreement (EPA), Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), or performing R&D of interest to the government. 

Meeting Registration

The deadline for registration is April 13, 2020.

All presenters, as well as meeting attendees, are required to register for the meeting. No walk-in/day-of-meeting registrations will be permitted.

Facility Tours

Tours of U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory, will be conducted the afternoon of Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Tours are open to all meeting attendees per guidance above.

Optional group dinners/socials are scheduled for the evenings listed below.  Charges will be individually billed. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend.

Food Accommodations

While there is no registration fee. $27.00 per person, per day, will be collected through the online registration process to cover continental breakfast, full lunch, beverages and snacks provided throughout the meeting. Half days (Monday afternoon and Friday morning) will be $10.00 per day.
