The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Electrical Systems Working Group (ESWG) Meeting is scheduled for March 27-29, 2019, at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) South/University of Texas (UT) at Austin in Austin, Texas. The ESWG Meeting is being held in conjunction with the ARL “Advanced Power Electronics Workshop” scheduled for March 25-26, 2019.

The meeting will take place at the Commons Conference Center, which is located in North Austin on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus.
Meeting Attendees – Please Review Carefully
Attendance at the ESWG Meeting is limited to U.S. persons – citizens or lawful permanent residents (LPRs), also known as permanent resident aliens (PRAs) or green card holders.
The ESWG Meeting is comprised of two sessions; please see below for guidance on attendance.
There will be a technical session held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. This session is open to:
- U.S. government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.
- On-site contractors at a government operated laboratory working under NDA. Employer is precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
- Employees of Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the master list of FFRDCs.
- Government contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include both on-site and off-site performers.
- Academic Institutions – this would include those who have an existing Education Partnership Agreement (EPA), Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), or performing R&D of interest to the Government [subject to validation by a current ESWG member].
There will be government-only sessions held all day Thursday, March 28, and the morning of Friday, March 29, 2019. These sessions are open to:
- U.S. government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.

All presenters, as well as meeting attendees, are required to register for the meeting. No walk-in/day-of-meeting registrations will be permitted.
Food Accommodations
The Commons Café, located onsite, offers a variety of breakfast items, assorted drinks, pizza, snacks, burgers and sandwiches, as well as reasonably priced daily lunch specials. Charges will be at your own expense.

*Panel Sessions
The ESWG Panel Sessions listed above will run concurrently the morning of Friday, March 29, 2019.
The Electrical Materials Panel will hold a breakout session intended to initiate a discussion around technology road mapping of various electrical materials needs (semiconductors, magnetics, capacitors, and insulation) to support wide-bandgap devices and power electronics deployment.
The Power System Interoperability, Integration & Architectures Panel will hold a breakout session to start a discussion of agency efforts toward advanced power interoperability and integration. This will include a discussion on agency open architecture initiatives; options for future source, distribution, and load management, integration and interoperability; and cybersecurity.
Facility Tours
Tours of UT Austin’s Center for Electromechanics will be conducted the afternoon of Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Tours are open to all meeting attendees per guidance above.
Group Dinner
A group dinner/social is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS/KAUS) is approximately 13 miles from the center of The University of Texas at Austin.

Parking
Those who do not wish to pay for parking on campus should stay at one of the nearby hotels that are within walking distance or provide shuttle service to the research campus. The daily fee to park on campus is $5.00.
