IAPG Electrical Systems Working Group Meeting 2017

Meeting Theme

The theme of the 2017 meeting is “Electrical Distribution and Control.”

Meeting Attendees

Attendance at the Electrical Systems Working Group/Electrical Materials Panel Meeting, scheduled for

January 10-11, 2017, is limited to:

  1. U.S. citizens/persons.
  2. Government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.

There will be a technical session held Thursday, January 12, 2017. This session will be open to:

  1. U.S. citizens/persons.
  2. Government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.
  3. On-site contractors at a government operated laboratory working under NDA. Employer is precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
  4. Employees of federally funded R&D centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. View the maintained master list of FFRDCs.
  5. Government contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include academic institutions, as well as both on-site and off-site performers.

Meeting Registration

Deadline for registration: December 22, 2016.

All presenters, as well as meeting attendees, are required to register for the meeting. No walk-in/day-of-meeting registrations will be permitted.

Tuesday, January 10

  • IAPG Electrical Systems Working Group (ESWG) Meeting
  • Government-only, all-day meeting

Wednesday, January 11

  • Conclusion of ESWG Meeting (a.m.)
  • ESWG Electrical Materials Panel Meeting (p.m.)
  • Both meetings are government-only
  • Optional ESWG Group Dinner – all are welcome

Thursday, January 12

  • FSU CAPS Facility Tours – open per guidance above
  • Technical Session of the ESWG – open per guidance above

Facility Tours

Tours of FSU-CAPS facilities will be conducted the morning of Thursday, January 12, 2017. Tour areas currently being discussed include:

  • 5 MW Advanced Prototype Test Facility
  • Real Time Digital Simulator
  • Cyber-Physical/Distributed Control and Nonlinear Load
  • High Temperature Superconductivity and Dielectrics Testing Laboratory
  • National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (time permitting)

Transportation

Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) is approximately 5 miles from the FSU-CAPS facility.

A limited room block, at the government per diem rate of $117.00 per night, is available at the following hotel:

Food Accommodations

$21.00 per day, will be collected as part of the online registration process for continental breakfast, lunch, beverages, and snacks provided throughout the meeting.

It is imperative we have actual numbers for the meal count as the number provided to the caterer is what we are held accountable for. If your attendance plans change, please contact Renee O’Brokta to cancel your registration. We will be able to adjust food quantities to avoid unnecessary charges. The deadline for cancellation is December 30, 2016. Refunds cannot be issued after this date.

Group Dinner

A group dinner is being planned for the evening of Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend.
