IAPG Chemical Working Group & Safety Panel Meetings 2017

The Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Safety Panel Meeting of the Chemical Working Group is scheduled for September 12-13, 2017, at the Federal Aviation Administration, in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the IAPG Chemical Working Group Meeting scheduled for September 14-15, 2017.

Meeting Attendees/Guests – Please Review Carefully

Attendance at the Safety Panel Meeting is limited to:

  1. U.S. citizens AND foreign nationals.
  2. Government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.
  3. On-site contractors from a government operated laboratory working under a non-disclosure agreement. Employer must be precluded from competing for open R&D solicitation (captive).
  4. Employees of Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs). This only includes employees of the FFRDC, not the administering entity. Master list of FFRDCs is maintained here.
  5. Government Contractors – those currently holding grants or contracts with a U.S. government agency. This would include academic institutions, as well as both on-site and off-site performers.

Requests for approval of non-U.S. government employees must be submitted in writing, and sent to Renee O’Brokta, no later than August 1, 2017. This is a HARD DEADLINE. Requests received after this date will not be accepted.

Attendance at the Chemical Working Group Meeting is limited to:

  1. U.S. citizens
  2. Government employees, includes Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignees.

Meetings Registration

The deadline for registration and visitor requests for foreign nationals was August 11, 2017.

The deadline for registration and visitor requests for U.S. citizens was August 29, 2017.

These are HARD DEADLINES, timely registration/submission is mandatory.

All presenters as well as meeting attendees are required to register for the meeting. No walk-in/day-of meeting registrations will be permitted.

Visitor Information – Foreign Nationals

If you are not a U.S. citizen, you MUST complete and submit an International Visitor Sponsor Information Form no later than August 11, 2017. Visitors without International Clearance cannot be granted access to the facility. Once your information is received and processed, you will receive an e-mail of clearance information. Please download the International Visitor Sponsor Information Form (.doc) and follow instructions on how to submit.

Visitor Access

All visitors are required to check-in at Gate 18 to obtain a visitors pass. The position coordinates for the gate are: 39°26’28.8″N 74°34’06.0″W (39.441324, -74.568334) should you wish to enter in your GPS. Please have a photo ID or passport. All non-FAA employees must go through security check-in. A shuttle van is available to take you to your destination. Please note, an FAA employee must escort you when you exit the shuttle van.

Facility Tours

Tours of the FAA are being planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Facility tours are open to all attendees of either meeting.

Transportation – Airports

The Federal Aviation Administration is located at the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY). However, due to limited flights in/out of ACY, primarily through Spirit Airlines, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the preferred airport for most travelers. Philadelphia is approximately a 1-hour drive from FAA.

Food Accommodations

While there is no registration fee, $17.00 per person, per day, will be collected at the onsite registration desk. We ask meeting attendees to be prepared with cash to cover costs. Charge includes lunch and breaks (morning and afternoon snacks and beverages).

If your attendance plans change, please contact Renee O’Brokta to cancel your registration so we may adjust food quantities to avoid unnecessary charges.

The deadline for cancellation is September 5, 2016.

Group Dinner

A no-host group dinner is being planned for the evening of Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Charges will be individually billed. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to attend so an approximate number of attendees can be provided to the restaurant in advance.

Presentations due September 5, 2017 – This is a hard deadline

If you plan to present at either the CWG or Safety Panel Meeting, an electronic copy of your presentation in MS PowerPoint or Adobe PDF format should be sent to Renee O’Brokta, IAPG Support Specialist, at renee.obrokta@nasa.gov, no later than September 5, 2017. This is a hard deadline, presentations need to be downloaded to FAA prior to the meeting. The use of Mac or specialized graphics software for your presentation is not available.
